It's always fun playing with photography! This is a long exposure experiment I did with my brother.
As some of you may already know, I got married this past winter and I am now changing all my online accounts from MissShayD to my actual name. To spice things up a little bit more I decided to also update the look of my site! I hope you all like it as much as I do! I will be sharing some more news very soon along with, of course, new artwork that I am very excited to share!
I will be selling prints and some originals at Arts in the Park in my little home town of Gouverneur on Saturday, September 20th. The event is held right at the village park and in case of rain, like last year, it will be moved to the St James school. Come check out some of my new pieces I have not yet posted anywhere online!
The rainy Saturday turned Arts in the Park to Arts in the Gym. My first show displaying my artwork and selling it went very well. Meeting new people from my home town, seeing familiar faces and even seeing someone who's ordered a print from me online! It was all enjoyable, getting feed back of my work to making new contacts like a local winery. I was thrilled to be interviewed and photographed by some great people from the Watertown Daily Times. They got a nice shot of me talking to Mrs. Sterling, the co-owner of TLC reality, about doing paintings of dogs. It was great fun going from selling my work from behind my computer screen to doing it in person at the elementary I used to attend! I'm very grateful that my first time showing got to be shared in two Northern New York Papers and online at the Watertown Daily Times.
